I AM INVADING YOUR FLISTS!
Thanks to the amazingly fantabulous
circlesanthem for the pics. Just edited them for your viewing pleasure.

Greatest swag ever, courtesy of SCI FI:
Getting this bag was my only accomplishment of the entire day.
And this greeted me with the turndown service when I got back to my room tonight:
Also, there is now a Pinkberry near the convention center, so I am doomed.
And I managed to fuck up the ethernet connection here in the room so I'm now currently connected via someone's random unsecured wireless which is slow and spotty, rather than the hotel ethernet even though I've paid for it. Goddamn it. I am such an idiot. Thank goodness the internet charge just goes on ye olde expense report. Sigh. But if I don't figure out what I did wrong I may not have connectivity tomorrow, grrr.
Also, what the HELL with the SYTYCD male dancer results?? WTF, AMERICA.
And I am becoming increasingly sad and worried as it looks increasingly likely that Jamie Bamber won't be able to make Dragon Con because of his Law & Order: London gig. (I still can't believe I'm going to have to watch an L&O show now.) Still can't hurt to ask him about it on Saturday with puppy dog eyes.

it seems that the majority of Cook fans love the fact that Dave's been wearing a ton of guyliner as of late, and i was curious to see if i'm the only one here who's not such a huge fan of it, lol. so here's a quick poll to find out:
David + eyeliner =
Reading DragonLance: The Annotated Chronicles. Apparently, these are teething books for middle school fantasy geeks? And I missed them? Maybe read half a book about a kender after Tannim came home one day with a trashbag full of them and no explanations?
Anyway, finished Dragons of Autumn Twilight and walked away with the feeling of "wow...they were flying by the seat of their pants". Also: "your pen-and-paper is showing".
My favorite annotation:
...about a fight that occurred with the TSR legal department at this point. The word "dragonlance" was trademarked as an adjective. The legal department ruled that therefore "dragonlance" could not be used as a noun or it would weaken the trademark. They insisted that we use the phrase "dragonlance lance" to refer to the weapon. Our editor, Jean Black, said simply, "No." - p. 322

Opening Night was a fabulous success!
Whooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooo
And you don't have to take my word on that...
I'd say the fact that both Mark and RYAN - Ryan wanting to see Emma do anything! - want to go again tells the tale very nicely!
You wanna see pics?
Sure ya do :o)

Time to collapse, sleep and get ready for the next 4 performances ;O)
Andy did an interview with Nags of MusicEqualsLife.com and gave up this lovely bit of information on Dave's upcoming CD:
Neal Is now out here in LA working on David's record. In his spare time he's started a Lounge Act called "The Boston Swingers". He performs in various lounges in the LA area.
So it occurred to me the other day as I reveled in my success in turning
arzim into a new Friday Night Lights fan that it wasn't so much my rhapsodizing about the stunning acting and writing and elevation of small-town life to high art that had convinced her to give it a try as it was a picture of Taylor Kitsch without his shirt on.
You all are a shallow, shallow lot.
And in one more attempt to get my friends to finally try out the best show on television - because I love you guys, and I want you to be as happy as I am - I'm going to try to appeal to those baser fangirl instincts of yours.
Also, you know, pretty.

There is at least one concert that I was going to get to go to this summer even if I hadn't come to the belated conclusion that selling my twenties for something that I don't actually want is UTTERLY HORRIFYING, and it was last night.
(Honestly? The place I'm in right now, I might scalp a ticket, say fuck it, and turn up at the Ford Center on the 29th of August, anyway.)
Cheap Trick. Heart, and Journey ALL played at the Zoo Amphitheatre last night. There is not a single bad seat in that place; it was fucking awesome. My first introduction to Cheap Trick was via a little movie called Ten Things I Hate About You and a band called Letters to Cleo (whom I still adore even though they've broken up). I sang their cover of "I Want You to Want Me" non-stop for about three days straight until my mom's boyfriend of the time was finally like, "Oh, child, let me introduce you to the quality." They are amazingly good live, by the way. One of the things that I'm upset about trading away so that I can run in place and kill myself for five years? (Uh, in spite of trying to give it a year, it ought to be clear which way I'm leaning at this point.) The opportunity to stand half-drunk in a packed venue in 100-degree heat, my BFF bouncing right along beside me, screaming, "I'M BEGGING YOU TO BEG ME" at the top of my lungs.
Next was Heart, and OMG. I don't care how straight you are, there is something about girls with guitars. And Nancy rocked the shit out and then did this high-kick at the beginning of "Crazy on You" that made me turn to my BFF and say in a daze, "If she invited me to the bus right now, all that I would be able to do is ask if she wanted me to bring anything."
Journey was supposed to be the big headliner of the night, but I got less of a kick out of them than the other two, and BFF and I left before most of the crowd did. We only really stayed until that point in the vain hope that they would play "Don't Stop Believin'" or, really, anything all that we recognized. The new singer is very good and incredibly energetic, and it's an unbelievable story, so rock on, little YouTube dude...but you're still crazy if you think that anyone goes to a Journey concert for their new stuff.
The concert was at six, the gates opened at four-thirty, and if you had any brains in your head at all you got there at three or earlier, so I got a lot of sun yesterday. I'm a pale-ass chick, too; even with sunscreen, I'm fairly rosy. I have a little pink nose like a rabbit at the moment. :)
Most surreal moment of the night by far: seeing a guy that I went to high school with, who used to lecture me on anarchy and then run off to sniff glue, rocking out to "Faithfully."
EDIT: FanLib is finally biting it. Damn. I thought that the ferals would be enough to keep that nonsense running forever. Most LOL-riffic moment? Listing FF.net as an alternate site, when they passive-aggressively bitched FF.net out for not allowing them to raid FF.net's archives with bots.
Just wondered, why were they singing Where is the love in rehearsals if they never did it on tour, was it just vocal exercises do you think?
Ok, I have no idea if I'm doing this right. I've never posted to any community on livejournal! But after years of not even opening my Photoshop, I felt like this picture deserved to me made into a wallpaper. It is really simple but the picture is gorgeous, credit goes to whoever took it! Hope you guys like it!

Last night I dreamt a lot. But the best dream was the one where I straddled Kirk Acevedo and leaned into him.
Even though it wasn't very long and there wasn't much to it, that dream just totally made my day. And now here I am watching Kirk and Kerry and reading articles about Fringe and just perpetuating my silly little crush.
I can't help it, I love the guy. And he may just surpass Vincent Kartheiser as Biggest Crush of All Time. Cause srsly, I'm pretty sure I'd sell my own mom right now to be with Kirk.
I know, that's not cute, that's crazy, but I can't help it. To me he is love embodied. Because I don't have anyone in real life to love. So I see Kirk and he makes me happy and I want to be happy so I start obsessing over him and he becomes like a symbol for true love if that makes sense.
I haven't had a big real life crush in forever so sadly celebrities must fill the gap.
Anyway tomorrow is my last day of work and then I'm going to see my sister and Liam in the city and then I'm in TEXAS! Whoo-hoo! Fingers crossed that everything for school works out and I don't get any more wrong info from people who apparently don't know anything about Canada.
